Seven Months Old

Is anyone shocked that I am late posting this? I'm not! :) Life has been pretty wild lately, and I've been horrible keeping up with the blogging world. SO...HERE GOES!!

This is the new face that she gives me when she wants me to perform for her smiles. She is such a stinker but this face makes me dance like her puppet.

The new obsession: making bubbles. Her tongue is her new best friend.
Her Auntie Manda gave her UGG boots and Hensley LOVES them! She mainly loves to eat them, but it is the only shoe that she will keep on, so we wear them often in this chilly weather. Thanks Auntie!
Had to get a close-up picture...look at those yummy little leg rolls! I feel the need to bite her (maybe that is bad to admit) and find myself kissing and nibbling on her so much during the day. She is going to grow up and have a complex towards needing personal space because I have invaded hers for seven months. Oops.

Her seventh month has been her most active and Jon and I are quickly realizing that life is going to get crazy. She has always been a child of leisure, but now is showing that she is ready for a more active lifestyle. He! He!  Recently, she has decided she is over hugs for the moment and whenever you pick her up she leans down to look at the ground because she wants to play. She moves backwards on her belly and flips around from back to belly so quickly, that before you know it, she is across the room! She can go from sitting to laying on her belly and has just started getting on her knees, so we know we are very close to having a crawler. Aah! She does things at her own pace and doesn't enjoy being rushed (sound like someone?) so we are loving this new phase. One time when she was sleepy she started shaking her head back and forth and Jon and I giggled so much that now she thinks it's a game. She will grin at you and shake her head and thinks that it is the best game in the world. Thanks to Dr. Ferber we sleep trained Hensley to work out some of her issues, and she is now putting herself to sleep and sleeping completely through the night. Knock on wood. Seriously, please knock on some wood because I've had a taste for the good life of sleeping and never want to go back to those interrupted nights. :) She is a champion eater and has eaten peas, green beans (not a favorite), squash, sweet potatoes (LOVES!), carrots, pears, apples, plums, and prunes. I love to feed her because she hums as she eats, and gets really upset when meal time is over because she could just eat constantly! She is now having big girl poo, which is why we have had to introduce so many fruits to help her. More to come on that, but she is getting better each day. Whew! I never realize how much I have to keep up with every month!

Funny story of the month: Hensley turned beet red trying to get her business done in her diaper, and when she finished Jon went to change her. He opened her diaper to find just one little baby turd. Being the accountant that he is, he knows exactly how much each diaper costs. She did not pee or didn't make a mess in her diaper, so Jon battled in his mind about whether a new diaper was needed or if he could just remove her brown friend and re-diaper her. The 17 cents won. He then proceeded to realize he didn't have anything around to remove her turd, so he picked it up with his bare hands and took it to the toilet. He later told me this was a mistake.

Sweet story: Hensley will lean for you if she wants to be picked up and even will raise her arms to you. We can't seem to get enough of this and when she leans for us our day seems magically complete! She loves to hug and will wrap her arms around your neck and squeeze crazy tight. She often will accompany a hug with her famous french kisses on your face! Wierd how slobber always seemed gross until she came along. Now she basically licks you and for some reason it is the best!! Picture this moment: Jon was sitting on the floor with Henz and he got up and she whined for him and raised her arms. Jon melted and looked as if he would cry at any moment. End of story. We really are trying not to spoil her, but I think we are failing!

Happy seventh month of life to my darling girl. I cannot imagine life without her.
